In a spacious, well-lit room within the corporate headquarters of 1WM (One Wrestle Movement), one of the many numerous professional wrestling companies, the room is adorned with the company's logo and features a sleek, modern design with a table that has a white table cloth on it with two black chairs. On top of the table would be things from different sponsors but mainly just the ones who are a snack company with two microphones sitting on that table where both the chairs were situated. Butterscotch Monroe was going over some last minute details as the journalists were in their seats talking with each other about what might be said or what is speculated to be happening during this press conference. When Butterscotch is told that it was time to start she would turn her mic on.
Butterscotch: Ladies and gentlemen welcome to the 1WM headquarters. My name is Butterscotch Monroe and as you can see the stage before you has been set up for a press conference.
The media in attendance begin to quiet down as they listen.
Butterscotch: Now as you all know, we just had our show Legendary five days ago and some events took place that no one knew would happen. First we saw the return of Raze, he was the one who fought fellow superstar Sam Tolson as a replacement for our very own Brianna Matthews. We also saw William Ryder lose once again after being so sure that he would win, and then we saw Ricky Stanton take a title from yet ANOTHER person. This person was your Glory Champion Aleki Kekoa. Now today we are going to have two very special guests out here to talk to us so without further adieu would you please welcome your former Glory champion and her manager, Justice Cross and Brianna Matthews.
Celebrity Skin begins to play over the pa system and Brianna walks onto the stage followed by Justice Cross. In one of Brianna’s hands was a file folder which she sat on the table next to her microphone. She is visibly upset and not in a sad kind of way and watches as Justice sits next to her. Leaning over Brianna would begin whispering to Justice for a few seconds before opening that folder up looking at some papers then out to the media.
Brianna: Hey guys! Thanks for joining us today for this press conference. I see a lot of familiar faces but I also see some new ones so let me get started by introducing myself. My name is Brianna Matthews and I am the representative for Justice Cross. I called this press conference to shed light on a series of heinous and vicious attacks that Justice has endured in recent times. Let’s rewind to where this unfortunate series of events began alright, because I don’t think anyone quite understands what is going on here. I do but some others might not.
Reaching for the bottle of water in front of her, she took the cap off to drink a few sips. Once she put the cap on again she set it onto the table reading her paperwork while still talking.
Brianna: It all started with an incident involving Becky Maverick. Justice was viciously attacked, blindsided, and left to fend for herself. It’s disheartening to see a professional like Justice become a victim of such violence. Justice called Becky out but there was a period of unsettling silence. As in complete radio silence, as if Becky was scared to own up to what she did to Justice. And then she attacked her again which was met with the same thing, radio silence.
Justice would lean over whispering something to her so she stopped to listen.
Brianna: I’ll be allowing questions at the end so if you can all wait until then for your questions that would be great. Now then where was I? Oh right, after those attacks and being the Glory champion, and UNDEFEATED champion might I add, Justice found herself in a hellacious match against Ricky Stanton for the Glory title. Now let me remind you, that my client valiantly fought in this match until Aleki Kekoa showed up and interfered. It’s because of this match that Justice ended up in a hospital bed. Yet, despite the intensity of the bout, Ricky should have been right there in the hospital too but he wasn’t. And why is that, you might wonder? My client and I find it perplexing and troubling that someone would endure such a brutal contest and not require medical attention afterward.
Listening to Justice whisper something else to her, Brianna turned to look at Justice and looked down at the papers in front of her. She shuffled through them until she found what she was looking for and then gave Justice a paper.
Brianna: Let’s fast forward to a couple of recent events, shall we? A few months ago, my client was ambushed by two individuals, who might I add, displayed a complete lack of honor by attacking from behind. It was a clear attempt to intimidate her and silence her as well. This is the kind of behavior that I don’t condone and as her manager, I find it not only disgraceful but an affront to justice and decency. And just five days ago, one of those two women attacked her once again. I’ve spoken with my client and I have told her not to attend anymore 1WM events and because I am standing by my client through this matter, I will not be attending 1WM events as of this moment. I am imploring you all to consider the gravity of these events. Justice Cross is not just an active wrestler for 1WM, she is a human being not to mention a daughter, wife, and mother. She is being subjected to these string of violent incidents. And why is that? Maybe it’s because the person orchestrating it is too chicken shit to say something to Justice. Or maybe it’s because Tapioca Joe doesn’t run his company as well as he thinks he does. Yeah I said it and I’d say it to his face. Joe doesn’t scare me. In fact, my client is a former general manager and can run a show better than his old wrinkly ass can and you know what, so could I. So now before I let you get some questions in, I have a few that I want you to think about. Why has Justice become the target of repeated, unprovoked attacks? What is the motive behind these assaults? Is it a personal vendetta, which it probably is on some levels, or are there darker forces at play? We cannot ignore the pattern emerging here, and it raises serious concerns about the safety and security of 1WM superstars. Alright that concludes my statement, I’ll go ahead and open it up for some questions now.
Butterscotch stepped forward then.
Butterscotch: Alright so how this will work is you all wait until you are called upon. We don’t need people shouting questions all at once and please, no flash photography. It bothers their eyes. Now when you ask your question, you need to state your name and where you are from. Let’s get started!
Brianna: You, the guy in the second row with the yellow shirt.
Reporter 1: Hey Brianna!
Brianna: Hey Jack.
Reporter 1: Obviously you know me, Jack Daniels from the Whiskey Gazette. Is there any way you can try to shed more light on the motivations for these attacks? I just want to know if you can tell us why Justice has become the target of such violence.
Brianna: Well, let me put it this way. I’ve legally started an investigation into the motivation behind these attacks. Let’s take Becky Maverick for example. You state you want the belt my client has, you go and attack her twice, then you go radio silent both times? Becky Maverick did that NOT because she didn’t want my client’s title, Becky Maverick did it because she is scared of my client. And honestly at this point, it’s a legal matter now so we’re still trying to figure out the motives for the attacks. If it was because of her attack on America Vaughn, then they wouldn’t have been cowards and would have attacked Justice head one instead of attacking her from behind. I won’t speculate though, but I hope that a thorough investigation will bring clarity to this disturbing situation.
She calls on another reporter as they raise their hands in the air hoping to be the next one called to get “the answer”.
Reporter 2:Hey Brianna! I’m Heather Smith from Westcott Media. Given the nature of these incidents, are there any additional security measures being taken to ensure Justice’s safety.
Brianna: I mean did you not just attend the same press conference as everyone else just now?
Reporter 2: Yes.
Brianna: Then you should know there hasn’t been ANYTHING done by 1WM to keep Justice safe. I’ve been legally working on some enhanced security measures and I am also working closely with law enforcement to ensure a swift resolution to these matters.
Another reporter is acknowledged by Brianna.
Reporter 3: Nick Kringle here. I’m with the Kingston News Outlet. Brianna, you mention an attack on your client five days ago at Legendary. Can you provide more details on that incident?
Brianna: Look guys, if you saw the show you shouldn’t be asking me these kinds of questions. Justice was standing in line minding her own business, not causing a scene or distraction. And what happened? She got ambushed for no reason. She is legally still an active wrestler for 1WM that is currently on suspension and it’s Tapioca Joe that is supposed to make sure that these people are safe at all times. I mean what if it was just a fan attacking her? I just found it to be a disturbing development and again it appears to be a coordinated effort on some parts to disrupt and intimidate my client’s healing process. If Tapioca Joe wants a showdown, then he’s going to get one legally. Joe, I know you’re here watching and listening right now so listen very carefully. Like it or not, Justice is my client. I will see to it that I stand by her in any way I deem necessary and if you don’t like that, then we can go visit a judge.
The questions continue, with reporters delving into various aspects of the attacks, the investigations, and the potential motives behind them. Brianna continues to respond in a poised demeanor, providing as much information as possible without compromising her investigation efforts she started. At one point they ask Brianna if Justice would leave 1WM and then both ladies would look at each other shaking their heads in disbelief. Brianna then stood up stating that she and her client had business to go conduct elsewhere. The scene ended with Brianna and Justice standing up and walking off the small stage only to return backstage through the curtain area.
Butterscotch: Ladies and gentlemen welcome to the 1WM headquarters. My name is Butterscotch Monroe and as you can see the stage before you has been set up for a press conference.
