I am a big reader and over the past year I have really gotten into Splatterounk/extreme horror. My favorite author right now is Robert Essig.
Currently reading "The Deep" by Nick Cutter

I have the Epic of Gilgamesh I've been meaning to start. This might be the kick up the arse I need. I have a lot of book I need to start. Sometimes, I can't read at all because of my eyesight, but typing isn't too bad because I can zoom in or use dark mode for better contrast. Reading black on white is tricky at times.

I am currently reading Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. My favorite books are The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett and Little Woman by Louisa May Alcott. I don't know any other good authors to read like I used to lol.

Anything by David Eddings. Can not recommend that man enough.
Right now, I'm in a sports biography phase. 'The Jordan Rules' by Sam Smith. 'Big Book of Basketball' by Bill Simmons. 'Boys Will Be Boys' by Jeff Perlman.
I also sometimes just lose a few hours to reading The Raw Files. Basically a year-by-year review of every episode of Raw.

If you like the Raw stuff, a guy on YouTube, Wrestling Bios is covering the entire Monday Night War. He's currently into '99, but he does all the Raw and Nitro stuff, compared each week's show side-by-side and picks who he thought had the better show. He also does bits and his own little interpretations to add some comedy into things. His Steve Blackman intro is top notch π

I fricking love Reliving the War. I think I'm still tail end of 96/Early 97 but I keep meaning to catch up on it.
Eddings does Fantasy. His main two series were Belgariad/Mallorean and Elenium/Tamuli. Wizards. Knights. Prophecies. Ya know. The usual. But their so well done without being word slogs.

I'm on a splatterpunk horror binge myself right now I'm not a huge fan of reading but I loved the novel of Stephen King's IT when I read it back in the day. I'm more into movies and true crime documentaries and anything involving serial killers or unsolved murders/mysteries. Paranormal shows or found footage films are also right up my alley.

If you're into true crime, check out the Underbelly books. Especially the first one and Tale of Two Cities. Great look at the Australian Gang world.
