In the serene ambiance of her impeccably furnished home, Brianna Matthews finds herself engrossed in a moment of contemplation. In the gentle glow of ambient lighting, she paces gracefully, her steps echoing a rhythmic cadence against the polished hardwood floors. With a firm grip, her phone becomes an extension of her resolve, each digit dialed with purpose. As she awaits the connection, her visage portrays a fusion of eager anticipation and steely determination, hinting at the profound significance of the impending conversation.
Ailyn: Hey Brie, how's it going?
Brie: It’s going good. How’s the honeymoon?
Ailyn: Super exciting, we're headed to Dublin tomorrow for a few days.
Brie: That’s awesome! I am glad you are having a good time. I went last night to Seattle and hung out with Raze. I went home after that though. It only takes 4 hours to get there by plane.
Ailyn: Ohh yeah, my hometown. That sounds like fun, Mr. Raze is cool as hell. What did you two do?
Brie: We just went and ate dinner together and then we hung out to talk about everything that is going on. He knows about wars so he talked to me about them. After a few hours I went back home to Long Beach.
Ailyn: Nice, on Monday we're going to kiss the Blarney Stone.
Brie: You could kiss a stone back here. -laughs- I’m just giving ya crap Ai. I hope you have fun in Dublin. If you need a place to stay I can text you my family member’s house address. They are always letting people stay with them and I want her to let her know you will be coming if you would like me to.
Ailyn: We have everything all planned out in an itinerary, Mema Ruin gave us the trip. But, thanks for the offer.
Brie: You're welcome. Look, I wanted to call you because we have a match at Legendary. You and I are teaming together against the team of…wait for it… Travis Levitt and William Ryder. I know that is a sore subject since we are friends but we should talk about it.
Ailyn: I saw, you must have seen my reaction on social media. It's not cool at all and I'm not happy to be forced to face our friends. Travis and I have become super close over the last few months and I see him as the mentor that Six and I so desperately have been searching for. With that being said, I'll give all of myself as I do in every match, Brie.
Brie: Yeah. I did see it which is why I think we should talk about it. But honestly, we can just think of this as a friendly bout between four friends. Or a sparring match. It’s not like we hate them. And come on, do you really think we would need to try that hard against Travis and William?
Ailyn: Hard enough to win, of course!
Brie: Yeah you’re right. Travis won’t just let us have a win, he will make us work for that win. So here’s the deal, Ally cleared me finally. But I have to wear a soft cast on my wrist which means I will have to be careful. Not too careful though. So if anything happens to that hand I need you to have my back.
Ailyn: I thought we were done talking about that?
Brie: We are. I am just telling you that I would have a soft cast on so be sure you are ready to show your stuff! Let them know who Ailyn is alright? Like if you need to step in or something. I don’t know what will happen but I do know that I have to be careful.
Ailyn: So I'm taking the lead in this one? I'm all for it!
There's a whispered “Yes!” under Ai's breath.
Brie: I want you to. I’ve wanted you to at times but I am the veteran and they expect certain things from me. And I guess that is where my business always comes into play. However, I did hear you the other day and I am trying to work on my all business mode.
Ailyn: You just better be ready for the hot tag and bring that fire that you “The Phoenix” can bring?
Brie: Right, about that…we should talk about that too. I’ll bring the fire and everything but I’m not using The Phoenix anymore. It’s Ricky’s way of thinking he has power over me. He said himself that he gave that name to me.
Ailyn: So, you're dropping the nickname. I'm so happy that I love Silly Girl. That sucks, Brie!
Brie: Should I not drop it? Because honestly I don’t need a name to call myself and be how I am. I can be The Phoenix without the name. So…do you think I should keep it or drop it? You’re a smart girl Ailyn, what’s your opinion?
Ailyn: I think if it came from PRS I'd drop it. But, he's the exact type of alpha male, overly cocky douchebag that I can't stand. Just mean to be mean, if you know what I mean?
Brie: Yeah. I dropped it already anyway. I’ve seen both sides of him. Yes he can be mean but he can also be a nice guy. That’s all I am saying about it. But before I go and let you get back to your husband -pauses- Because that isn’t fucking weird to say to you now! Before I let you go and get back to your husband, I just want to say congratulations again and I’l see you at Legendary. Unless there is anything else you think of that we need to talk about quickly.
Ailyn: Thank you and we both appreciate what you did for us at the wedding being our bartender of sorts. How did you like the ceremony, anyways? I never got to ask you at the reception.
Brie: It was a beautiful ceremony. I’m very happy for you and Dax both. You had a beautiful dress too.
Ailyn: The candle trick was my favorite part.
Brie: Yeah that was pretty neat. I behaved myself though and didn’t start anything with anyone. It was your day and I didn’t want to ruin my wrestling kid’s big day. But Ai, I’m so confused. My friends hate my other friends. Plus on top of that my friends attacked my other friends. But I was civil for you and Dax.
Ailyn: Who are you talking about? I do better with names.
Brie: Right. Sorry, I forgot. Braddock and Chevy. I had to be nice to them. I really wanted to rip their faces off. Or something. I mean I couldn’t even help you guys. I was escorted out of the arena cause I was trying to go help you while I was injured.
Ailyn: I'm very confused about that myself. Vulgar Display of Power beat up people, well us for money and kinda pisses me off that they did that and then came to my most special day and acted like nothing happened. It's so two faced, but I'm learning that's kinda this business I guess? That comes to separating business and pleasure I suppose?
Brie: Yeah. I am learning to be able to do that again thanks to you. Not be business all the time. So have a good time and I’ll see you soon.
Ailyn: We fly back in exactly ten days. See you soon, Partner!!
Ailyn disconnects the call to see her husband just coming back to the suite after working out in the gym at the hotel. They finish their evening with a special couples dinner on their last night in London before exploring the rest of the UK.
