The echoes of the fans' cheers coming from the main area of the Allianz Arena can be heard as the camera focuses on the new Pride of 1WM Champion Rei Park as she walks down the hallway. A smile on her face and the title belt around her waist, gently tapping its metal plates with her freshly manicured fingertips. Dressed and ready to go in a black ruffled mini skirt, black crop top with lace overlay (complete with black Chanel suspenders) and thigh high socks and black boots, it’s clear she’s going to be fashionable for her match later on in the show against Justice Cross.
But that smile would quickly fade as she’s approached by the brash and brazen backstage interviewer Meera Katze. Rei tried to skirt by her, but Meera clearly wasn’t going to be taken Rei’s non-verbal no for an answer and instead blocks her way and darts any time Rei tries to duck underneath.
Meera Katze: Oh no sis, you won’t be getting past me that easily.
Rei Park: Didn’t my manager Kaede Tanabe tell you weeks ago that I would exclusively be talking to Mari Moon and nobody else?
Meera Katze: I cannot recall nor de…
Rei Park: Of course you can’t. So let me refresh your memory, it was 3 shows ago at Legendary 15 when you and the rest of the boorish, brainless interview crew brazingly showed up at our locker room door like a group of entitled fans. I will not be talking to you. Not now… not ever.
Neither party is looking too happy, glaring daggers at one another as Rei’s hands rest on the top of the title belt that is around her waist. Meera planted her hands on her hips and the tension between the two was rising until Kaede Tanabe appeared at Rei’s side, she too not looking too pleased at the ongoing situation.
Kaede Tanabe: Ms. Katze, as my client stated, I have told you, Mr. Greer and Ms. Monroe that you need to schedule an appointment if you wanted to speak to either of my clients and that guerilla ambushing would not be tolerated. And look at what I find you doing.
Kaede shakes her head in disappointment as Rei’s lips twist up into a smirk. Meera slowly started to back down, something that was very unlike her usually aggressive self.
Kaede Tanabe: You know, I think this show is appropriately titled Alles Für Diesen Moment because a lot of people who are insignificant are trying anything to get their 5 minutes. So Rei and I are going to take our leave at this moment. We have more important matters to attend to.
Rei delivers a sly little wave of her fingers as she and Kaede walk around opposite sides of Meera who just stands there stunned. The two continue down the hallway.
Kaede Tanabe: I came just in time to rescue you.
Rei Park: Thank you for that by the way. I swear they’re like vultures circling around an animal carcass. It really makes me mad.
Kaede Tanabe: What you need to do is channel all that energy into your match with Justice later.
Rei Park: That’s the plan. Justice likes to think that she’s actually a threat but we’ve all seen what she does in the ring. Sure she’ll be tough, but it’s nothing I can’t handle especially when I have a representative that actually has my best interests at heart and doesn’t see me are merely a money maker.
Kaede Tanabe: They’re both a couple of talkers. And I believe the reason why they talk as much as they do is because they feel threatened. They’re merely trying to distract everyone from what they’re lacking.
Rei Park: They want the attention also. They’re a couple of narcissists… the dumb leading the dumber. And they think that I’m like that… hypocrites.
Kaede stops and turns to face Rei, putting one hand on each shoulder.
Kaede Tanabe: Look, I’m going to tell you this and I would tell Jenn the same thing. Forget about what they think. Forget about what everyone who doesn’t like you thinks. As long as you stay true to you and heed my guidance, you’re going to keep on the up and up.
Rei sighs a bit as she relaxes her shoulders.
Rei Park: You’re right and I don’t think I’ve ever said or done anything that wasn’t me. I guess people just don’t like a strong woman who sticks up for herself talking the truth. It’s not my fault that they don’t have a grasp on reality.
With smiles on their faces, they walk into the catering area where Rei grabs a bottle of water off a table and unscrews the cap.
Rei Park: Jenn and I have worked far too hard to get to where we are, building up not only our own careers but Seoul Queens in the process. Bringing you on board was perhaps the smartest decision we could’ve made because you’ve only heightened our prospects.
Kaede Tanabe: Keep up that attitude and 1WM management might give you that dream match with Coda.
Rei Park: Ooh that gives me the tingles in all the right places.
Rei’s hands fly up and she wiggles her fingers as she does a little shimmy. Kaede just looks on and smiles as looks down at her phone.
Kaede Tanabe: Rei, I have some calls and other things to take care of before your and Jenn’s respective matches. You got things from here.
Rei Park: Yeah… I’m good.
With a reassuring squeeze of Rei’s shoulder, Kaede departs from the chaotic catering area as Rei takes another sip of the water.
Rei Park: She’s right… screw them. Justice will get what she deserves. She can’t always get what she wants despite her thinking otherwise.
The scene slowly fades to black.
