EHWF (May 2017 - August 2018)
A Debut and A Retirement:
Debuting in the Summer of 2017, Oliver Black made a splash debuting on the EHWF Anarchy Brand. Immediately targeting Bad Blood Wrestling legend, The Misfit. After weeks of bizarre attacks, including the abduction of the Misfit inside a body bag, the angry Misfit put his career on the line in a match against the new comer Oliver Black. In a brutal and bloody match Black came out victorious, retiring The Misfit from in ring competition. After the match in a shocking turn of events The Misfit revealed himself as "the master" or trainer, announcing to the world that "your training is done... My son". Revealing himself as not only the mastermind behind his own attacks but also the father of Oliver Black.
Rising the Ranks:
Later that Summer Oliver Black cemented himself as a major player on the Anarchy Brand. Earning himself a Bad Blood Championship opportunity winning the Feast or Fired Ladder match at the company's Final Destination show.
Continuing his success in the early Fall of 2017, Oliver Black found himself in the middle of the Bereavement Tournament, in which the winner would earn a future match for the Anarchy Heavyweight Championship. In the October finals Black faced off against a slew of competitors including legends the likes of Eric Smith and Silver Kazma in a Death Match Battle Royal at PPV Aftermath. Where Oliver Black eliminated current Bad Blood Champion Eric Smith to win the bout.
Upon his success he began gaining popularity within the EHWF fandom, as well as disdain from those in the locker room, quickly finding himself in a heated rivalry with the faction The Samson Family. The dominant group of competitors that had a strong hold on not only Anarchy but the Anarchy Heavyweight Championship. Going back and forth with the likes of Bill Ryder, Astrid Sedin, Chris Crippler and Brooklyn, Oliver Black knew he couldn't face such a war alone.
In the Winter of that year Oliver Black formed the 2017 Most Feared Award winning faction The Black Asylum. The Black Asylum quickly made work to bring terror and destruction to the Anarchy Brand. With the likes of Lord Raab and Samuel McPherson, and later replaced by KillJoy and Red Dragon the team propelled Oliver Black to the top of the EHWF mountain.
In December of 2017 Oliver Black announced he would be cashing in both of his championship opportunities on the same night. Declaring a triple threat match in which would see Oliver Black take on Bad Blood Champion Eric Smith and Anarchy Heavyweight Champion Bill Ryder in a winner take all bout at the December 5th PPV WAR! While many scrutinized the rookie's decision it paid off when Oliver Black made history by pinning Bill Ryder and becoming the Bad Blood and Anarchy Heavyweight Championship!
275 Days:
Upon cementing himself atop the Anarchy Brand, Oliver Black continued his success and embarked in a historic championship reign. Becoming the longest reigning Heavyweight Champion in the history of the Anarchy Brand.
A reign which started in a war of words with hall of famer in EHWF history, Ryan Morgan. The January PPV would see Oliver Black's first championship title defense as Black defeated Morgan in a hard back and forth contest at ReVenge.
At the spring classic, LastRites Oliver Black might have had the toughest night of his career as Anarchy General Manager Joshua Samson booked him in not one but two championship defenses. Early on in the night we would see Oliver Black successfully defend his Bad Blood Championship in a First Blood Match against long time rival Jessie Roberts. And later that night a scheduled triple threat was set to see Oliver defend against Kevin Hunter and Bill Ryder. But after a brutal attack on Bill Ryder by Black he was unable to compete. Leaving Kevin Hunter and Black to face off in a 1v1 contest, in which Black came out victorious.
A few months later at the Anarchy Branded PPV BloodBath, Joshua Samson determined to dethrone the Black Asylum booked a double main event in which saw Samson Family member Astrid Sedin and Black Asylum member KillJoy in an I Quit match as well SamFams enforcer Chris Crippler in a steel cage match for the Bad Blood Championship with Oliver Black. While Astrid was able to vanquish her rival KillJoy, Oliver once again was victorious on his 8th consecutive PPV.
Toronto Screw Job:
In the summer of 2018 Oliver Black had firmly taken hold of Anarchys Throne, and well into his then 240+ day reign as champion. On the July 16th PPV Meltdown Oliver Black was set to defend his Bad Blood Championship against rival Kieran Overton. The two had gone back and forth on twitter for months and finally had the chance to square off. This highly dramatized match saw many shocking twists, the first two coming before the bell even reign. As Oliver Black would announce the match change, now putting his Heavyweight Championship on the line much to the delight of the Toronto fans. However their cheers were short lived as Astrid Sedin made her presence known that she had signed a new contract guaranteeing her, not Kieran, the next Heavyweight Championship opportunity. However in the most shocking turn of events was the now famed Toronto ScrewJob. The final moments of the match Oliver Black was blindsided by a premature call for the bell by a senior official, as Kieran Overton had locked in a submission hold. And in the shocking turn of events Oliver had lost his beloved Bad Bad Championship. Later that week it would come out that blindside was orchestrated by none other than the EHWF owner Michael Rissi himself. As Anarchy began to rise in popularity and Oliver Black's vocal disapproval in Rissi and the Mayhem roster Rissi took a shot at the competition. Causing a disgruntled Oliver Black to walk out on the company, taking their Heavyweight Championship with him.
Iconic Pro Wrestling (August 2018 - April 2020):
Second Reign of Terror:
Upon Black’s exit from EHWF he quickly found himself a part of a new Joshua Samson production, in the promotion Iconic Pro Wrestling. Early in the company's history Black drew a lot of attention from newcomers and upstarts looking to make a name on the former World Champion. Most notably a cocky young upstart by the name of Corey Lazarus. A feud with Lazarus would lead into the company’s first ever supercard “Helloween”, which would see Oliver Black pick up his first of many victories after a hellacious Extreme Rules matchup.
Once establishing himself as one of the top names in the company, along with long time rivals in the likes of Brianna Rissi, Astrid Sedin and Stasi Hearveaux who had also jumped ship from EHWF to IPW, Black found himself in the Tournament of Icon’s to crown IPW’s first ever IPW Heavyweight Champion. While Black was considered a first round favorite to win the tournament he had two very challenging first and second round matchups. First barely defeating Legend Brianna Rissi, and the following week narrowly escaping with a victory over IPW newcomer Aaron Kostan. These hard fought victories would find Black making it to the tournament finals, where Oliver would secure the win. On the October 14th episode of Chaos “An Icon Crowned” , Oliver Black would begin his second world championship reign of his career, becoming IPW’s first ever World Heavyweight Champion.
Over the next 7 months as Champion, Oliver Black would light IPW on fire with 3 very hotly contested rivalries. The first came in the form of rising star Aaron Kostan. Kostan a man of faith and dignity, found himself amidst his first main event feud with Oliver Black, a man who had neither. This feud tested the mental state of Kostan as Oliver Black went deep into his bag tricks, playing many mind games against Aaron, even bringing his fiance Ana into the mix, kidnapping her in the middle of their rivalry. These mind games would eventually push Aaron Kostan over the edge and agree to a Three Stages of Hell Match at “Christmas Clash”. A match that he would sequentially lose, but a match that would help put IPW and himself on the map.
Upon successfully defending his championship in a bloody and brutal match, Oliver quickly found his next challenger in Stasi Herveaux, who would attack Black immediately following his victory. For over the next month and a half Stasi became a throne in the side of Black. While Oliver loved to play mind games with his opponents, Stasi turned the tables. Always one step ahead of Oliver, Hearveaux repeatedly made Oliver Black’s life as champion Hell. While Stasi may have played a better hand throughout their feud, it would be Black who would walk out victorious. Defeating his latest rival Stasi Hearveaux at January’s Supercard “New Year, Who Dis?”
Before long Oliver Black not only had the entire lock room after him but also his boss Joshua Samson. In a quest to crown a new champion in IPW, Samson booked a World Championship match for Oliver to face Corey Lazarus, who over the past six months had climbed the ranks of the company and nearly defeated the champion in his debut match at Halloween months prior. After Samson’s attempts to dethrone Black failed, and Oliver defeated Lazarus, Samson devised a new plan. Joshua Samson would go on to announce the Lord of Chaos tournament, a single elimination tournament that would crown the lord or lady of IPW. But the year's inaugural event would come with a twist, as it found one of its contenders in the IPW Champion Oliver Black. It would be stated later that Oliver’s championship would be on the line in every match he competed in throughout the tournament. Throughout the night Oliver successfully defended the championship time and time again until finding himself in the tournament finals. Samson’s plan would come to fruition when Oliver Black’s championship reign would come to an end losing the Lord of Chaos finals to Bliss.
Slasher Movie Rules:
Upon losing his beloved World Championship to Bliss, a woman he had respect, Black and the entire locker room were shocked when Bliss immediately vacated the championship and retired from the wrestling business claiming exhaustion and mental health issues. This was a move that not only disgusted Black, but in Oliver’s eyes tarnished the World Title. It was then Oliver Black turned his eyes to the IPW Television Championship, a title he hadn’t held in his illustrious career and a title Oliver made in his personal quest to make the work horse championship in the company. This is a goal he would accomplish and then some, many in the wrestling community believed Oliver actually made the TV championship more important than the World Championship for what would be the rest of the promotion's existence. And his plan to do this involved one man… Aaron Kostan.
During the first incarnation of their feud Oliver taught Aaron the rules of slasher movies throughout his promos and mind games. It was a feud that helped put IPW on the map, and Oliver hoped to make the same magic with Aaron once more. But this time as sequels always do they needed new twists and a new set of characters. In this epic cinematic-like storyline Oliver Black brought in the brotherly duo of Kiro and Kono Masaki, one of the most respected and honored tag teams to come out of Japan. Throughout the course of this feud Oliver not only continued his mind games on Aaron Kostan but also toyed with the brothers eventually making them turn on eachother. This slasher sequel ended in what many consider to be IPWs greatest match of all time when all four competitors faced off for the TV Championship in a fatal four way at that year’s “Anniversary Armageddon.”
Oliver Black would leave the super card with another cap in his feather, the Television Championship. A title that he would go on to hold for 9 months. Bringing credibility to the championship and defending it numerous times most notably at “Helloween” in a TLC match against Lash Donahue and at “New Year, Who Dis ii” against returning legend Jason Dave. Before dropping the championship on a March episode of Chaos.
Revenge is a Dish Best Served Cold:
After nearly 3 ½ years of focusing on his obsession with championship gold and cementing himself as one the top names in the business, Oliver Black chose to take time to handle something much more personal… the Rissi Family.
After Oliver’s untimely absence from EHWF it was later revealed that he was fired by Michael Rissi due to several personal disagreements. Many believed that Oliver thought he deserved more pay being one of the company’s top stars and longest reigning champion. That on top of Black's many public criticisms of Rissi’s unfair treatment of company talent causes contract negotiations to “fall through” thus ending his historic heavyweight title reign.
In the infant stages of the company IPW secured a contract with Michael Rissi’s cousin, Brianna Rissi. And while Black did defeat Rissi in the inaugural championship tournament the two were largely kept separated. With all the prior history with the Rissi Family fans shocked when Oliver Black aligned himself with Brianna Rissi in the most important time of her career. Brianna had found herself not in a feud with former mentor Jason Dave but also with a spot in the World Championship tournament for the vacant title.
At Civil War, in what Oliver Black would later call his IPW Slasher Trilogy finale, Black would teach his final slasher rule… you can’t trust anybody. Once again shocking the world Oliver Black would get his revenge on the Rissi family by attacking Brianna Rissi immediately following her Championship victory. Destroying all the trust Rissi had left. While Oliver planned to end the reign that Brianna had worked so tiredly ti win, this plan would go unfounded as this would become IPW’s final show, slowing its doors due to Covid-19
