Rebecca Mackenzie had just spent the past two and a half hours working out with her mentor and close friend, Kurt Angle. The two of them were seen sitting together on one of the workout many workout benches that were spread out throughout the facility. Kurt would begin to smile to himself as he began to realize how far along she had come in such a short amount of time since signing with 1WM. Kurt looked in her direction and surprised her by placing his arm gently around the back of her neck to give her a hug filled with appreciation and also to just show her how proud of her he truly was.
Kurt Angle: "Have I ever told you how proud I am of you, Rebecca Mackenzie?"
Rebecca nodded, her face still looking forward as she watched the students run the same exact warmup drills she had once been apart of not too long ago.
"The Prodigy" ◆ Rebecca Mackenzie:
"I think you may have mentioned it once or twice since knowing me."
Rebecca Mackenzie smirked slightly, as she slightly nudged him in a playful manner.
Kurt Angle:
"Well I just want you to know that I am so damn proud of you and not only for your accomplishments, but for the wonderful woman you ended up becoming after all these years of knowing you."
Rebecca smiled, showing a sign of her appreciation towards him for telling her that during one of the toughest points of her life.
"The Prodigy" ◆ Rebecca Mackenzie:
"I appreciate you saying that more than you will ever know. These past couple of months have been brutal and with everything I have going on right now between my wrestling career and working part time at the Atlas Dental office three days a week, being able to hear that from you right now makes me appreciate all the hard work and hours that I put into working for both companies. There have been several occasions in which I felt like it might be a good idea to walk away from pro wrestling and focus on my Dental career full time. But then after I had the time to reflect and think about all the hard work and time I put into getting to 1WM, the part of me that grew up watching pro wrestling with my father and remember how much love I actually have for the sport while remembering how ecstatic he was when I called him and told him about signing a contract with 1WM on the Sunday morning only one week after he received the horrible news about my Grandmother passing away, I could still hear how proud of me he had been of me, despite all the pain and heartache he had been dealing with that week."
She paused for a moment, taking a moment to clear her head from all the emotions she had built up inside of it throughout the past couple of minutes.
"The Prodigy" ◆ Rebecca Mackenzie:
"I remember making a promise to him that one day he would be able to tell all friends about how his daughter is not only a certified Dentist, but is also a champion in 1WM because he knew how much that would eat away at them knowing no matter what their kids accomplished in life, his daughter accomplished something that will never be duplicated by anyone of their children."
"Thank you for taking the time to come down here on your day off to spend time with me. I want you to know how much I appreciate and value you as a mentor, friend, and person. I could never repay you for all the things you took the time to teach me throughout the years because then the two of us would be sitting here for the rest of the day and quite possibly all night listening to me ramble on about how amazing you truly are Mister Angle."
Kurt nodded, knowing how much she needed to vent to someone right now he allowed her to continue on without interrupting her.
"I want both you and my parents to fly out to California sometime this year and come watch me wrestle live and in person. God knows the three of us could use a little time away from this city every now and then. I will take care of the flight, hotel bill, and any other expenses you guys manage to pile up that weekend. Just give me a few months to warm my parents up to the idea and give dad a call sometime soon and start working on convincing him to fly to another state and watch his only daughter wrestle live in front of thousands of people. I will not accept anything less than a promise that you will do everything in your power in order to make that small little request a reality."
Kurt smiled, his mind spinning a mile a minute while trying to come up with a game-plan to convince her parents to ignore their phobia of ever getting on an airplane and flying across the Country 2,500 miles while spending six or seven hours with him 35,000 feet in the air.
Kurt Angle:
"You have my word that I will do everything in my power to make sure the three of us end up coming to California to watch you wrestle."
Rebecca smiled.
"The Prodigy" ◆ Rebecca Mackenzie:
"Thank you, Kurt!"
The two of them embraced each other with one more small hug before standing up and heading towards the front entrance of the facility.
