Opening with a wide, cinematic style shot of a long and winding highway in the middle of no where; A black Dodge demon hellcat is flying down the road. The engine roars as gears shift and the driver hammers down on the pedal coming around a corner. Surrounded by beautiful Midwest scenery of both agriculture and heavily wooded areas in the distance, with the sun setting just off in the horizon.
Switching from the outside view to inside the car from the passenger seat, Cory Chevelle sits comfortably in the driver's seat staring out at the open road ahead of him, occasionally checking his speed and keeping an eye out for state patrols. There's a smile on his face that seems to grow a little more when the engine revs, like music to his ears.
"Am I making you nervous yet?"
He asks the camera man, who replied with "No, I'm alright." Before Chevelle gears up once more and really steps on the gas, flying through a straight-a-way.
"Gotta love that Mopar engine!"
"Do you like this car more than your Chevelle?"
"Absolutely not. Ol' Red and I have too many memories and miles between us. But this Hellcat.. might be a second favorite. Hard to say, I own a lot of cars..."
"So anything you wanna say to the fans in regards to Legendary?"
"I'm paying you to film, right? Not interview. I'll speak plainer, shut the hell up and let me do my job and you do yours."
Silence takes over, as Chevy stares over at the cameraman with a very serious dead-stare for a moment. Then he looks straight on, eyes back on the road. He begins to nod as he gathers his thoughts for a moment. The camera man doesn't utter another word, as he knows Chevy could very well pull over and send him walking at any time.
"A lot of upset faces in the stands at the end of the night at the last Legendary. People really expected the so called Alliance to come through and shut down the Conglomerate early on. And why shouldn't they have expected such an out come? You had One wrestle's cream of the crop against a newly formed group who everybody was predicting to fall out before we even started. The company's favored heroes verses a band of misfits and new comers. Then I did exactly as I said I would, I came into Warzone like Mahomes came to the Superbowl and I won that match. Pinning the Samoan God of War himself! Now.. next show it's Vulgar Display of Power verses Samantha Tolson and Aleki..."
Chevy grins, shaking his head as he looks into the camera with excitement in his eyes.
"I can't wait!"
"Now for those of you who missed it on social media, Aleki has come out and said he wants to humble me.. I get it. That loss stung him and it should especially after all the bullshit he talks about wrestling divinity and him being all high and mighty. That man should haveearned a valuable lesson at Legendary 47. I don't believe he did though, bless his heart. So, I guess I've gotta be the asshole and hand his ass to him one more time. But also, can't forget Sam in this. A fellow Missourian and one hat comes as tough as any, sure. When that broad hit that exploder suplex on me at the last show, I was not only impressed but I remember thinking 'damn this girl can go!' And in all honesty, Samantha Tolson was the only one who really impressed me and earned any respect from me in that match."
"Aleki, you, on the other hand.. You're exactly as I expected. You got an ego on ya son and until recently haven't found anyone that can stand with you and drop you on your head, sending you back down to Earth. You fight like a young man, nothing held back. It's full throttle the whole way and you're always going for the kill shot. You remind me a lot of myself when I was younger. That's how I have your number and that's why you are gonna find yourself having a real hard time trying to 'humble' me. You still think you're a God, and sure what's one loss gonna hurt someone as arrogant and in love with them self like you? It's only one loss, right?"
"That one loss exposed and revealed a lot about you. There's blood in the water and we can smell it and don't think we ain't coming in to tear it wide open until your beating heart is left exposed for the taking. Braddock and I are a team, you and Sam are a pair thrown together out of a group of ego's and company marketing favorites. While you two are talented and you got that gold around your waist...You're still not a team. Nor are you a brotherhood like Braddock and I. And for you two, and many at home this is about Alliance vs Conglomerate but for us, it's about establishing ourselves as THE top of a division because I hear rumors that the tag titles might make a come back. And by God do you know who's at the 'epicenter' of that lil revolution? Vulgar Display of Power."
"So enjoy Ricky Stanton protecting your ass and padding your record some more over on Glory. Because when you come walking into Legendary, you're on our turf. Legendary is officially ours and there ain't a God damn thing anyone can do about it!"
Chevy chuckles to himself, down shifting as he slows the car down some while passing through a small town with a population of maybe 100 people.
"Y'all got a lot of people counting on you. A lot of folks, especially youngsters looking up to you. Don't you understand? You're suppose to be the saviors of the company and so far... Well, you've failed. You made declarations you couldn't deliver on all whole talking about how lady Meatheads the failure and so on. I know you're both gonna come at us with everything you've got in the tank. You're gonna get together and strategize and while you'll try to set egos and differences aside..."
"You're still going to fail."
"Because in the end, you're no God. And no matter how many suplexes Samantha Tolson can do, she's no blood fighter or Olympian. You're both very human. While talented, talent isn't enough sometimes. It's the distance and levels of violence a person must be willing to go that sets us apart. Maybe I'm wrong, and that remains to be seen but I don't think you've got it in you. Either of you. After all..."
"What made you decide to take up the banner of the Alliance"?
"Hmm? Was it the initial mass attack during the main event at Legendary 46? Was it Vulgar Display of Power running rampant and coming out doing as we pleased to whoever we wanted? Did you all get together after having your ass's handed to ya and say 'Someones gotta stand up to these no good jerks!' and you took it up on yourselves from there. Or were you just strung together by the company and told you were gonna be the line of defense against Bianca's creation? It's important to know why you're doing something, why you've been banded together. What are you really even fighting to protect? The Samson's hold over this company? Ricky Stanton's blatant misuse of authority and position within the company? The same old-same old and the way things have always been done around here.."
Chevy shakes his head, and begins pulling off to the side of the road. He looks at the camera guy and motions for him to follow him outside the vehicle. Chevy gets out and walks around to the front of the vehicle. He carefully leans back, and from his front pocket of his denim vest he pulls out a cigar and proceeds lighting it. His eyes shift back into the camera. He inhales deeply, then exhales and observes the open country around him.
"You all formed together because your ego's were bruised. We interrupted the usual programming and ya didn't like it so the lynch mob was formed. Tempers flaring all over, it was kinda funny to be honest. My point is, you all didn't sign on for the long haul. You didn't think it through, you just wanted payback. You wanted to avenge the humility and embarrassment your ego's endured whether it be because we cost you a match, or because you were reminded just how human you truly are."
"Your will simply isn't greater than your why in this situation.
"You don't represent an alliance. I hate to break it to you. In some way or another it's personal amongst each and every one of you. Temper, temper Miss Tolson, it'll be your downfall if you're not careful. And as for you Aleki, you spend more time announcing women crush Wednesdays for your bitch wife than you do actually focusing on the fight at hand. You can give me that menacing Samoan death stare and flip your pretty hair all you want sweetheart..."
"I'm still gonna slam you on your head."
Chevelle pushes himself away from the car, resting the cigar in the corner of his mouth.
"So. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! I, Cory Chevelle and my partner BRADDOCK, Vulgar Display of Power- to all you other so called tag teams out there. Will be at Legendary 48 March 31st, 2024 in Santa Monica at the One Arena! Facing off against none other than The Samantha Tolson and Aleki kekoa or cocoa, whatever the hell his last name is. No surprises, no weapons legal, no special rings or circumstances! But a match worthy to be billed as a main event itself for the amount of talent involved alone! It's the Conglomerate's muscle verses two of the prettiest and most temperamental members The Alliance has to offer! They've shaken off the dust of the bitter loss they suffered from the Warzone match and they're coming to teach the bad guys a lesson! Oh no! Whatever will we do!?"
inhaling another long, slow draw from the cigar, then calmly exhaling as he approaches the driver side door.
"What we always do."
"Leave em lyin' in the ring looking like fools."
"Sooner or later y'all are gonna learn. VDoP ain't nothing to fuck with!"
Chevelle throws the cigar aside and gets back in the car. The engine fires up and revs a few times while the camera man quickly scrambles to get back in and then it's fade to black.
Switching from the outside view to inside the car from the passenger seat, Cory Chevelle sits comfortably in the driver's seat staring out at the open road ahead of him, occasionally checking his speed and keeping an eye out for state patrols.
